The Diagnostic Imaging Facility Turn-key Service by MSO

MSO can help you with everything you need to start a new diagnostic testing facility. Our specialty is in diagnostic cardiology however we successfully incorporate the following modalities in our facilities:

  • Nuclear Stress Testing and general nuclear imaging
  • Echocardiography and general ultrasound
  • Ultra Fast Computerized Tomography
  • Bone densitometry (DEXA)

What is a diagnostic imaging facility?

By procuring diagnostic equipment, assembling the technical know-how to operate it, the staff to run it and the passion to turn it into a viable diagnostic center – you will start on the path to a diagnostic imaging facility. If you are a physician and own diagnostic equipment you may bill Medicare directly for these services under your practice's provider ID. Other non-hospital facilities must enroll as IDTFs (Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility) and must qualify for such classification.

MSO's unique turn-key service

A quick search on the internet yields a plethora of results on turn-key diagnostic imaging operations. However, standing squarely on the pedestal is MSO – a company that founded its existence on the establishment of one of the largest fixed site nuclear imaging facilities in the New York metro area. With 4,000 square feet, numerous examination rooms, multiple viewing stations, a complete software development team and custom engineered computing systems, MSO lead the way to create one of the most prominent diagnostic facilities of its kind. This facility later on provided services to over 600 physicians.

In 2001, MSO decided to divest itself from daily operations of the imaging center and turned to focus on the implementation of new technologies for diagnostics and therapy in healthcare. Since then we have been providing turnkey solutions to physicians and healthcare investment groups in the establishment of a diagnostic imaging facility.

Let's start the process now!

Before you embark on your journey, here is a list of questions you should ask yourself before the initial preparations for a new facility. We have a comprehensive list of questions, but that will come later.

  • In what ways does room layout influence patient flow?
How do you handle patients hooked up to IV leads in the middle of a procedure in contrast to new patients awaiting a procedure?
  • Who is the appropriate candidate to become an office manager for the facility?
  • How can you combine 4 critical functions in the daily operations to 1 person to reduce costs?
  • Which equipment can I choose that will provide rapid imaging at a modest price? Do I need a dual head?
  • Which portion of the procedure is the bottle neck that can prevent me from processing more patients ? How do I overcome it?
  • Is it possible to fit 5 cardiac stress tests, 3 bone studies, 5 Thyroid uptakes and a blood pool study on a single head camera in one shift ? (our answer is yes. How? we will tell you later).
  • Which cardiac protocol provides the best clinical results? Which cardiac protocol is the quickest?

If these questions have peaked your interest then you should know by know that we are very good at this. Dr. Jacob Dagan - the principle founder of MSO completed his Ph.D. in nuclear diagnostic imaging at Columbia University and took part in study research on modalities currently used today in this field. Under Dr. Dagan's  guidance, MSO developed, tweaked and optimized imaging protocols that enhance the quality of the studies while maximizing throughput.
