Patient Testimonials
Here are individual patient testimonials: Irene - age 27 (2/15/01) When I entered kindergarten, it was learned that I was unable to see out of one eye during the required vision tests. My parents took me to our physician who diagnosed me as having a lazy eye. When they patched my eye, it was uncomfortable, looked bad, and really annoyed me, especially because I am a girl. I could hardly see anything. I used to test myself by holding my hand up in front of someone, splitting my view in half. I realized then that I could only see one-half of this person and not the other. When I came to Israel, I again went to the doctor but he told me that there was no hope in repairing my vision. This was very hurtful and I felt like I was an incomplete person with only one functioning eye. I was always afraid that something might happen to my good eye. I hoped for a treatment that would at least allow me use of my other eye if such a thing were to happen. At some point, I went to an ophthalmologist and she informed me about NeuroVision, a new treatment for lazy eye. She said that I might even gain 20/20 vision! I decided to take the treatment. The treatment itself was like a game; I felt like a small girl playing on the computer with different kinds of circles. I really had fun. Now, most importantly I can see well with both eyes, and they are very active. I am really enjoying the results and am very happy! Abraham - age 52 (02/21/2001 ) I have had lazy eye ever since I was a child. To treat the condition, the doctor put a patch on my good eye in order to stimulate my weak eye. The inability for me to see properly with the patch annoyed and irritated me, and as a result I would often take the patch off and throw it away. At one stage it was my dream to become a taxi cab driver, but every time I took a visual examination I was told that it was a waste of time and that there was no chance that I could ever get the license. I went to the family ophthalmologist and told her that I really must pass the examination. I was even willing to have a surgery just to get the taxi cab driver's license. She began to laugh at my urgency, and told me that she would recommend NeuroVision's treatment, which does not require surgery. I was very excited to learn about this treatment, and even came daily to have my computer sessions. I could tell that the treatments were helping my eyesight; it was something out of this world. These improvements were confirmed when my periodic visual examinations showed substantial progress. I began with a vision of 20/50 and soon reached 20/30. I could not believe it! When I first began the treatment it was difficult to see people clearly; they appeared as shadows and I could not make out their facial features, but now I can see their eyes and faces. Recently, I again took the examination to get my public transportation driver's license. It was a piece of cake! Today, I am a very happy man. Alex - age 11 (03/17/2001 ) Once, I went to a physician when I was ill and he noticed that I had red eyes. He recommended that I see an ophthalmologist, who told me that I have a lazy eye. I had never thought that there was anything wrong with my eyes. I had noticed that there was a difference in the vision, but thought it was normal, just as my left hand is weaker than my right hand. The physician advised that I either use eyeglasses with a patch for my good eye or that I try NeuroVision's treatment. I chose the treatment. There has been great improvement. Before, when I used my left eye, I couldn't see anything - not even large letters, but now I can even see small letters. I feel as though the vision in my lazy eye is almost as good as in my stronger eye. I was especially happy when I noticed that I could read the numbers on a MobilePhone, when before, I could not. Scott - age 14 (03/08/2001 ) We discovered I had a lazy eye at the age of three, and the physician had me wear a patch. I really did not want to, especially because the other kids at school would make fun of me. I would try anything I could to get out of wearing it. Scott's Father: It was difficult to fight with him, to bribe him, to yell at him and to be angry with him. The patch is uncomfortable, irritating, and it made him sweat and scratch. At school the teacher had to constantly watch to make sure he didn't take it off. To put it bluntly, it was for him a form of punishment. When he reached the age of 12, we wanted to look into getting contact lens for him. I took him to my optometrist's friends and they recommend NeuroVision's treatment. After we went to NeuroVision and checked out the details, we realized that there was nothing to loose in trying the treatment. Scott:I started a new school year while I was undergoing treatments. I realized that I could see better than I could see the year before, and could see things that I never could see before. Scott's Father: The family could tell he was improving and Scott felt the improvement himself. Each time the clinic staff told him he had made progress, I saw the smile on his face. I saw the happiness. Scott:This is really unbelievable! Edith, Harrold's mother - Harrold is age 14 (03/24/2001 ) Until my son Harrold was 14, we didn't know that he had any problem with his vision. Then one day he told us that he was having problems seeing well so we took him to an optometrist. We intended the visit to be a routine check-up, but the optometrist said that his left eye needed to be corrected with 1.50 prescription, and that his right eye was 75% blind. The news shocked the whole family! Harrold is a very successful young boy: very handsome and a sport's champion. Now suddenly he is handicapped? Of course we did not think of him in this way, but the optometrist said that our son would qualify for a certificate as a handicapped person since he has lazy eye. When we went home, we were devastated. We started to cry, both Harrold and I. That night the optometrist called us to tell us about an experimental treatment he had heard of, by NeuroVision. We went to NeuroVision to find out more. Before the treatments I would think: How will Harrold fulfill his army service? How will he drive? But because of the NeuroVision treatment, he is now OK; better yet, he is 100 percent!
